Mr. Lapham

Dear Sir

[illegible]- day I send off a box
of live plants to your address via
Rail Road to Buffalo which I hope
will reach you safely The Gardner
put it up. I had not time to look at the
things which he says are named,
and very good. [Spireas?], [Peonies?], [Lilies?],
etc etc all hardy except I find he
has put in a [illegible] [illegible] (A. [illegible])
which will be a house plant. very striking
in a green house - & easily propagated &
[illegible] [illegible], var. [illegible].-

I want many thing but I have hardly
time to say what. [illegible].
[illegible] [patas?]. [illegible], again. [illegible]
[illegible], But especially I want
acorns of all your oaks. & parts of Hickory's
etc in considerable quantity, I care not hoe
many- this fall - Gathered and packed fresh in
a little earth, or leaf - mould. I dare say I
