Dear Alderman,
I am writing this letter to commend you on your fine outstanding work as an alderman on the district. I am a 10th grade student going to Rufus King High School. I don't live in your district but I feel that person who would go up and try to get a bill passed that all the other aldermen opposed to but will not settle for any seond hand law. The to be voted out so many times that I feel a person who go forth and turned down and still fights must have an outstanding character. This is the type of person whom I'd like to be friends with!
I have watched you on T.V. and against so many who opposed you, you fought a wonderful battle and defended yourself and others. If more American Negroes like...
