To the Honorable the Legislature of the State of Wisconsin.

The undersigned inhabitants of the towns of Bristol and Paris in the county of Racine, respectfully petition your honorable body to so alter the boundaries of the two towns as that the width of a half section of land running from east to est of the town of Paris may become a part of the town of Bristol. Some of the reasons for the proposed change on ana [mifed?].

The Present dividing line is a Public road will littled and much traveled; and the road and school dishevels an map ainly made up of parts of each town - This gives use to much confusion, especially in school matters; on joining the actions of the commissions of each town to couswich a school ensmel, and from the inconvenience from the fact that out of the towns sometims raise money for the support of schools and not the other, thereby creating sufficiently in its dis-tribution, and in the peace and harmony of the schools.

The above considerations apply with equal force to road districts. Second. The town of Paris is seven miles from north to South; the town of Bristol but six. Third. The burden of [carten?] of the town of Paris is four miles from the inhabitants in said town on this road; the [illegible] of the town of Bristol is but one mile. To the Former three is no direct road to the bottom a cap is easy and constant Fourth. By the proposed change the running of the two towns will be equally divided, and what is still greater importance the school and road districts will come under our jurisdiction, and the

inhabitants, supporting the schools and wanting the roads, living in the same neighborhood, will be under the same jurisdiction in local matters, thus securing greater efficiency and energy in these import -ant matters.
