she would now again return to your petitioner again taking with her of the goods & property of your petitioner.

After being absent about six weeks the said Jemima addressed a letter to your petitioner promising in the most humble terms, reformative & obedience to her duties, if our petitioner would receive her again into his family, and your petitioner willing to grant her every indulgence, consented to her return & she did again return at the end of said time, & renewed her promises of faithfulness & obedience.

After her said last return the said Jemima continued to reside with your petitioner for the space of about two years, when she again began to make private arrangements to leave your petitioner, & preparatory thereto sent away various things from the house of your petitioner, into the southern part of the territory, but continued to reside with your petitioner until some nine months thereafter when she left without the knowledge of your petitioner taking with her & having previously sent away, unbeknownst to your petitioner, a large quantity of the goods of your petitioner, which last above named departure was, according to the best belief of your petitioner above the last of May on the first of June A.D. 1846.
