Dear Sir.
Having been requested by the National Woman Suffrage Association to obtaining [unjust ??] [certain information for them with regard to the sentiments of our senators on the question of] national legislation for [favorable to] woman political equality, I take the liberty of addressing you to [reg] ask you to vote for a standing committee on womans affairs when that question of approval shall be bought or submitted to your honorable body.
Year by year have [a] women representing the [a lat] The [illegible] [a large number of] many intelligent & particular] public expended women in every [nation?] & many on the States-asked that this [illegible]...action by [??] Congress

& it has been [requested?] Deeming...that through such counsile? only can the interests of this large body of American citizens be [properly considered] receive due attention.
We respectfully urge you to secure by your assistance the its appointment with regard to the sentiment for woman's political equality in Nebraska. I can assure you that [it] is rapidly [increasing] gaining [addressals] growing men & women are organizing enthusiastically all over the State to secure to success of the amendment-, and any action you may take favorable to unanimous [interests] affairs will be highly appreciated by a large number of the very best of your fellow citizens of this commonwealth-

In reply to yours of 28th ult: permit me to say that you have not mistaken my sentiment and position in regard to the cause you have so much at heart.
I have committed myself to the advocacy of woman's suffrage and shall stand to my frequent utterances. Whenever the subject comes before Congress I shall vote for the formation of a permanent committee to take cognizance and direction of this important subject.
