To Thomas McKee Esq.

By virtue of the Power & Authority to me given by His
Majesty & Reposing special Trust & Confidence in
your Loyalty, Abilities, & Integrity, I do hereby constitute
& appoint you the said Thomas McKee Esq to be
an Assistant Deputy under me in the aforesaid Departmt
at & about Susquehanna & you are accordingly hereby impowered
to hold Conferences, send Messages, & Treat with the Indians
for the good of His Majestys Service and the extention of the
British Indian Interest {inserted- "& influence"}. Agreeable to such Instructions & {"Directions", struck out, "orders" inserted} as you shall from time to time receive from me, {"or other your superior officer", inserted} and you are to exercise this Deputation with Fidelity Diligence & to the best of your Abilities & for so doing this {"will be to", struck out} you {"a Sufficient", struck out} {"shall be your", inserted} Warrant.
