January Special Term 1880
Be it rememberd that heretofore, at
a Superior Court begun and held
at the Court House in Lexington on the
5th day of January A.D. 1880, presented the
presiding Hon. David Schuck Judge following Bill of Indictment was returned into open court-which is
in the words and figures following
to wit
State of North Carolina
Davidson County
Superior Court
January Special Term/80
The Jurors for the State upon their oath present.
That Dick Warren (colored) late of the
County of Davidson on the first day of
November in the Year of our Lord, one
thousand eight hundred and Seventy nine,
with force and arms, at and in the
County aforesaid, one gray mare of
the value of fifty dollars of the
goods, chattels of one Levi Easter then
and there being found, feloniously
did steal, take and carry away,
contrary to the form of the State in
such case made and provided, and
against the peace and dignity of
the state.
