Oct 17 5 President Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Bro We enclose a communication from Bp W.N. Stepens of the[Mormon] Ward which is self explanatory,

In consideration that only a few people, are taking the interest in the Meeting ^house^ that they should [also] have the burden[ illegible] in a [peace] etc - would like to see the good people of Mexico complete their meeting house, and would [illegible] feel pleased If you brethren can find way clear to send them some assistance in [illegible] means as the people will pay in for tithing in kindness [me]so the pe people to act.
