Legislative Council met this morning at 10 oclok & was organized in the following manner, H C Kimball Elcted President Wm Clayton chief Clerk Robert Campbell Assistant Clerk A. F. Farr Sergant at Arm Joseph W Young Messenger Wm Jones Foreman Samuel Alger Chaplain
The New members were then sworn in viz O. Pratt W. Woodruff & A Carrington John A Ray & Erastus Bingham President Kimball addressed the Assembly

The Governor met with us & remarked that He did not think it ne[ce]ssary for us to employ a reporter as we had good Clerks
Moved & Carried that the Freedom of the House Be Extended to the US Judges Col Steptoe Major Reynolds & Capt Ingals General Rich, & Hon O Hyde.
