Lieut—

This is to inform you that you will not
leave Camp until the 4th of next month for this Place
with the horses; this is done on Account of the bad
health of the City at present but by starting when
you are there will be no danger as all will e
right by that time. When you start take your
time and arrve slowly so as not to injure the
horses No news worthy note So

Sir

I would respectfully state that Lt Allen and
24 enlisted men at Wilkes Battery are now sick in quarters
and it is absolutely necessary these men should be supplied
with sugar and Flour as the cannot eat cornbread and
the allowance of Sugar being totally insufficient to meet
their wants therefor I will respectfully request you will
