Captain J. T. Scott A. Q. Gen

Sir

I would respectfully state for your information that the Cotton Press fomerly occupied by my Light Batty and which was evacuated by me for the purpose of giving the Pro Marshall a propper and safe place to keep the Prisoners then on the Island As it is now occupied by a part of Ryans Regiment and the second Texas as a wagon yard I would State that the Yard which my Batty is now in is almost totalally a place unfit to keep in the sheds having pretty near fallen to pieces which necessary exposes the Batty to rain &c therefore under the circumstances I would most respectfully request you will order the Wagons removed and permit me to move my Battery into it with as little delay as possible
