We are not being badly abused
these days and it sure is a rest.
Drilling lasts from 9 until 1
and then as a rule the rest of
the time is our own.
We have not been bombed
and the shells cannot reach us
so we have much to be thankful
for. In the distance we can
hear the roar of the guns which
is terrible in its intensity, and then
it sometimes increases to drum
fire. I sure would rather be on
the sending than receiving end
of that stuff.
The weather has mostly
been fine, although a snow
storm + a couple of days after some
rain made its appearance. The
snow is nearly napos amd the
roads are beginning to get
muddy. We should worry. I
wear #9 boots during the winter
and they are great gatherers of
real estate.
