Spring of 1905: I wrote last Spring on the two exams,
obtaining 31 on the 18th & 22 on the 19th. Last fall
I wrote again in this 19th & obtained 28 marks on
Ash Wednesday last I wrote again & obtained 29
so with the addition of this 4 on composition. I have
received the necessary 33.

I ask you gentlemen to give my position
your serious consideration. The request - I would like
to make is this. "That you allow me the 19th Cent[ury]."
Also that you allow me to write a
number of essays involving the whole of the 18th
Cent. Lit. The essays to be completed by Easter so as
to allow me a chance to make up the necessary
2 marks on the Lit of that period.
