Saugeeng[Saugeen] August 20th 1844

Dear Brother

These few lines are to
tell you all about our fishing affairs,
as it will now soon commence. for
by the middle of Next month it will
be time to get on the spot and want
to inform you, with what I shall expect
you here with, that is a seine Barrells
and salt and if you have the means of
getting some provisions to sell here
exchange for fish you might some
profit by it, and I want you to get
your best friend from among the owners
of a vessel to come here with you, so
that you and I can place some faith
or confidence in, for as we well know
how poor and helpless we are in transacting
our affairs with white folks, we much
need try to get hold of some we would
honest, also try to get some net twine for
would like to have some and some Leather also.
