His desire was to have Mr. Tumulty suggest some names and, incidentally, to furnish the transportation and expenses.

I would like to have an interview with you at some early date. We have prepared an addressed that we will put in the homes of every colored voter acting for the reasons the Independent colored voter should support President Wilson. You have no idea the colored man that well vote for the President. I can refer you to my friend Hon. Eugene L. Kirkhead of Jersey City whom I went to Jersey and worked for him for sheriff.
