Thanks for your good letter. I thought I had answered your letter returning cheque but if not I owe you an apology. The check reached me all right.

I am sorry you were unsuccessful at Harvard. Of course our men are handicapped by being less

mature. I thought though that Princeton generally excelled in form but was weaker in argument. There doesn't seem to be any regular rule in judging & I should think you could insist on some fair system so that our debaters would know positively what to train for.
