Please pardon my seeming neglect in not replying more promptly to yours of Nov. 26. I have been at work day & night & literally have had no time "to take my pen in hand." Upon rec't of your letter I thought I should be able to give you the particulars of at least two match games of

Cricket but in some way the record has been lost, probably because not posted in my Scrap Book but carelessly allowed to remain loose. I can only say in a general way that for one year, either '61 or '62, Base Ball was at a discount, being practically given up. A number of enthusiastic cricketers, the writer among them formed a club & so great was the interest taken in it that all of the ball players joined. Owing however to the larger number of men from N. Y., Brooklyn, Newark & other places where
