I neglected it until the holidays and never knew I must wait until you returned to the city. I have not yet seen the History of athletics. I wrote to Presterey asking him not to forward it until he rereceived word from me - it was at the end of the month, and those are short cash days. Notwithstanding that, he did send it. I was out and the express people left notice for

me to call. I did when I received my Dec. check & found that they had returned it to N.Y. It is now up to Presterey. He makes me livid. If he had paid any attention to my note there would have been no trouble. Sorry that church scheme fell through. I thank you nevertheless for your & your father's interest. Sincerely yours Ray H.
