My dear Moffatt

I got your good letter yesterday afternoon, which was forwarded me here from Princeton. I just came here yesterday, where I am spending the last month of the vacation with Dr. + Mrs. De Witt of the Theological Seminary. I feel very weak & incompetent even to be on such an important committee as the Missionary committee of Mesnay Hall. We shall certainly have all God's strength & guidance in our plans & work for next year. I don't know how much I can do, in the way you say. I will get the book you mention and prepare on it. Please don't look on me as one with much

missionary experience": I feel very helpless in looking at what might not be done in Princeton toward interesting Christian men in missions, and making fellows feel, and realize how the proclaiming of the gospel in all nations is the one great object that Christ's church should have before her in these last years till He comes. It is sad to see what a weak realization of this there is in the church at large. Let us pray earnestly for a successful year in all the departments of the Murray Hall work, but I think on this especially. I believe Trowbridge and Anthony are other members of the Comm. will you tell me who else there is in it - there must be someone from '01 isn't there? I am yours for His service Edwin H Kellogg
