16: Strong & fresh breeze N. W. to light S. East to South wind these 24 hours with frequent rain & hail squalls - Sea very rough - General duties for the day - 1st asst went fishing. Keeper & 2nd asst went to Newport - Steamer Willamett arrived off bar to rough to enter.

17: Moderate & fresh breeze to a gale S. East to South these 24 hours with rain first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours thick damp weather - Sea rough - General duties for the day - The barometer is 30.16 at 2. P.M.

21: Light East to S. East wind first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours fresh breeze South - with rain most of the 24 hours - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - 1st asst scrubbing his floors in his quarters. Steamer George Chance crossed by today.

22: Gale to fresh breeze S. East to South and S. West these 24 hours with hard rain most of the 24 hours. Sea rough - General duties for the day - Keeper went on the beach and packed up some wood - The barometer is down to 29.64 today. 1st asst went to Newport after the mail.

23: Strong to fresh breeze West & S. W. with rain & hail squalls first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light S. East wind with rain & cool weather - Sea very rough - General duties for the day - 1st asst packing up wood from the beach. The barometer down to 29.78 during 24 hours.
