September 3: Calm & light variable winds first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze N. West with fair weather but considerable smook - Sea smooth - General duties for day - Keeper & 1st asst went fishing - Steamer Willamette Valley sailed for Sanfrancisco today.

4: Light variable winds first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light south wind with thick fog and smooth during 24 hours - Sea smooth - General duties for day - 1st asst digging potatoes & went fishing - Had 4 visitors - 2nd asst went to Newport today.

5: Light variable wind & calm first part of 24 hours with some fog smook cloudy but dry weather - Last part of 24 hours moderate breeze N. West fog & smook - Sea smooth - General duties for day - 1st asst getting his crop of potates in - Keeper went fishing also 1st asst - 2nd asst also digging potatoes - Had two visitors today.

6: Light S. wind and calm with thick damp fog during 24 hours - Sea smooth - Had four visitors today - Keeper and first asst went fishing today - General duties for the day - The barometer stands 29.64 at 3 P.M.

7: Light wind to moderate & fresh breeze South these 24 hours with thick damp fog & light rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours rain showers - Sea quite smooth - General duties for day - 1st asst went to Newport - Had one visitor.

8: Strong to fresh and moderate breeze South with frequent rain showers during first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours fair weather with moderate breeze S - Sea quite smooth - General duties for day - Had eleven visitors - Keeper & 2nd asst went to Newport.

9: Light S. East & East wind first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours moderate breeze S. East to South cloudy but dry during 24 hours - Sea quite smooth - General duties for day - Had 8 visitors - 1st asst putting dressing on garden & went fishing - 2nd asst went to Newport.

10: Fresh to moderate breeze East to S. East and South with rain first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light South wind fair weather - Sea quite smooth - General duties for day - 1st asst went fishing - Steamer Willamette Valley arrived & went into Yaquina from Sanfrancisco.

11: Light S. to S. East & East wind first part of 24 hours cloudy but dry weather - Last part of 24 hours light variable winds with light rain showers - Sea smooth - General duties for day - Keepers went fishing - Keeper & 2nd asst hanging outside storm door - 1st asst went to Newport after the mail.

12: Light variable winds & calm with light rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light N. West wind clear fine weather - Sea smooth - General duties for day - 1st asst went fishing and working in garden - 2nd asst making an organ box - Keeper went to Newport.

West thick damp fog - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Had no visitor today - Keeper went to Newport to see if would get a letter from Inspector about going on leave of absence - 1st Asst went fishing and putting dressing on garden.

15: Moderate breeze to light N. W. wind with light fog first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light to moderate and dry - Keeper Frank M. Plummer went to Chicago on a sixty days leave of absence - 2nd Asst I. L. Smith went to Newport for the mail at 10 A. M. and returned at 3 P.M. - Sea smooth - 1st Asst working in garden - had 4 visitors.

16: Light north west breeze dry to damp fog first part of 24 hours - last part of 24 hours light North West breeze with damp fog - First asst went to Newport for the mail at 2 P.M. and returned 7:16 P. M. - Sea smooth - no visitors. - Mrs G. L. Smith went on duty tonight.

17: Light North West to South East breeze for these twenty four hours first part of 24 hours - light N. W. to S. E. breeze with light fog last part of twenty four hours - light south East to North West breeze with light fog to dry - sea rough.
