5: Fresh breeze South to S.W. & West thee 24 hours. First part of 24 hours hard rain. Last part of 24 hours rain showers. Sea quite rough. Keeper & assts putting 200 Gallon of Mineral oil in Oil-room. 1st asst went to Newport after mail and supplies and working in his Quarters. Keeper and 2nd asst scrubbing Office floor and painting same also painting serive??? table green, step ladders & chimney box. Barometer down to 29.92.

6: Light S.E. to South wind and calm thee 24 hours. First part of 24 hours light rain showers. Last part of 24 hours fair and warm weather. Sea moderately smooth. 1st asst painting and Whitewashing in his Quarters. Keeper & 2nd asst went to Newport. Barometer 29.95.
