January 1: Gale fresh & moderate breeze S.S.E. & East with rain these 24 hours. Sea very rough. General duties for the day. Barometer 29.14 to 28.98.

2: Gale to fresh and moderate breeze S. East to S.S.W. these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours rain showers. Last part of 24 hours fair and showery weather. Sea rough. General duties for the day. 2nd Asst working in his celler. Barometer 28.98 to 29.30 today.

3: Fresh to moderate breeze W.N.West these 24 hours with frequent rain hail & snow squalls. Sea quite rough. Keeper cleaning chicken house & barn. 1st Asst went to Newport after mail & supplies. 2nd Asst working in celler. Barometer 29.30 to 29.90. 2nd Asst went to Newport to post mail.

4: Light West to East and variable winds these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours rain. Last part of 24 hours light showers. Sea very smooth. Generaduties fort he day. 1st and 2nd Assts went fishing. Barometer 29.90 to 30.10 today. Torpeto boat Davis passed station 5 P.M. going South.

5: Light West to S. East wind fair & light rain showers first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours moderate and fresh breeze South rain. Sea quite smooth. General duties for the day. 1st Asst went fishing. 2nd Asst went to Newport. Barometer 30.10.

6: Moderate breeze South to light S.E. to East wind these 24 hours with rain during 24 hours. Sea very smooth. General duties for the day. Keeper went to Newport to post mail & get supplies. Barometer down to 29.90.

8: Light East wind dry & cool these 24 hours. Sea smooth. General duties fort he day. Steam Schooner Weeott sailed from Yaquina for San Francisco. 1st Asst went fishing. 2nd Asste went over on the bear cgter agates. Barometer 30.05 to 29.95.

9: Moderate to fresh breeze and gale East to S.E. and South rain these 24 hours. Sea rough. General duties for the day. Keeper sawing wood for furnace. 2nd Asst went to Newport after supplies & mail. 1st Asst washing machine wipers???. Barometer 29.14
