March 1: Fresh to moderate breeze S. West to West these 24 hours with frequent rain & hail showers. Sea quite rough. 2nd Asst polishing agates. Keeper putting dressing on his part of garden. Barometer 29.60 to 29.70.

2: Light S.W. to West wind these 24 hours with rain showers these 24 hours. Sea quite rough. General duties for the day. 2nd Asst polishing agates. Barometer 29.70 to 29.84. Keeper went to Newport to post & get mail & supplies.

3: Light variable and W. and S. West wind these 24 hours with light rain showers during 24 hours. Sea quite rough. General duties for the day. Barometer 29.70 to 3.30 today. Keeper working in garden and cleaning his celler. 2nd Asst went hunting.

4: Light West to S. East wind cloudy & fair weather first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light North wind clear fine weather. Sea quite rough. Keeper went after clams on the beach & went up in the tower with 5 visitors. 1st & 2nd Asst went to Newport. Barometer 30.40 today.

5: Light wind and fresh breeze East first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light North wind with clear fine weather. Sea smooth. General duties for day. 1st Asst went fishing. 2nd Asst went over on the South beach. Steamer Weeott left Yaquina for San Francisco. Barometer 30.20.

6: Light North to S. East wind these 24 hours with fair weather. Sea smooth. 2nd Asst went hunting for birds. Keeper spadeing up in his part of garden preparing to plant Peas & Potatoes. 1st Asst planted cabbage seed. Baromter 30.20 to 29.82.

7: Fresh breeze S.E. to S. and S. West these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours light rain showers. Last part of 24 hours frequent hard rain squalls. Sea quite rough. 1st Asst went to Newport after mail & supplies. 2nd Asst working in shop. Barometer 29.63 to 29.74.
