August 1: Light variable winds and calm with heigh dry fog first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light North wind clear fine and warm weather. Sea smooth. Had twenty one visitors today. Keeper and Assts showing visitors in tower. Barometer 29.97. Keeper and Assts takeing flag-staff out of the ground and repairing and putting new signal halyards in.

2: Moderate breeze to light North wind first part of 24 hours with clear fine and warm weather. Last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze North fair weather with some heigh dry fog. Sea smooth. General duties for the day. Keeper went to Newport to post mail and get supplies. Barometer 29.95. 1st Asst showing 18 visitors in tower. 2nd Asst went to Newport.

2: Light North wind to moderate and fresh breeze North these 24 hours with clear fine weather. Sea rough. General duties for the day. 1st Asst went fishing. Barometer 30.25. 2nd Asst washing. Steamer Manzanita still in Yaquina to rough to get out. Keeper putting coal oil cases in celler.

3: Light East to North wind with clear fine and warm weather these 24 hours. Sea smooth. General duties for the day. Keeper went to Newport after supplies and mail. 2nd Asst also went to Newport after supplies. Keeper and 2nd Asst haveing hay hauled from Newport. Barometer 30.25 to 30.00.
