1902. MONTH. DAY. RECORD OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AT THE STATION, BAD WEATHER, &c.

June 1: Fresh breeze North to light S. West wind first part of 24 hours with rain showers - Last part of 24 hours Fresh breeze to gale South with rain showers - Sea moderately smooth - Barometer 29.90 to 29.87 - 1st asst showing two visitors in the Tower

June 2: Light wind and moderate breeze S. West these 24 hours with frequent rain showers - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.90 to 29.96 - Keeper & assts went to Newport to vote

June 3: Light wind and moderate breeze S. West these 24 hours with frequent rain showers - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.96 to 30.10 today - General duties for the day - Keeper working in his part of the garden and writiting in the office

June 4: Light wind to moderate and fresh breeze N. W. to North these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours light rain showers - Last part of 24 hours clear fine weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.07 to 30.16 - Keeper and assts whitewashing fences painted base of Tower - Tower windows & chimneys on work-room - 1st asst went to Newport - 2nd asst went to Umpqua for a vacation of seven days - Left after work sta 1 P.M.

June 5: Moderate and fresh breeze North these 24 hours with clear fine weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.16 to 29.90 - There is a Schooner laying off Yaquina bar waiting for a slug to be towed in - Keeper & 1st asst painted railing on balcony - Painted Oil house - & whitewashing fences

June 6: Fresh and moderate breeze North these 24 hours with fair weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.90 - Keeper went to Newport after mail & supplies - 1st asst painting in his quarters & went fishing - U.S. Light Tender Manzanita passed the sta at 7 A.M. and entered Yaquina & doing buoy work

June 7: Moderate breeze & light N. wind with fair weather these 24 hours - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.90 to 29.83 - 1st asst showing three visitors in Tower - Keeper went to Newport

June 8: Moderate breeze to light North wind with clear fine weather first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light S. wind thick fog & fair - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.96 - 1st asst went to Newport - Keeper showing five visitors in Tower - Light-House tender passed out of yaquina at 2. P.M. and sailed South - U.S. Light-House Tender Manzanita passed this station at 5:10 P.M. going North

June 9: Light North and South wind and calm these 24 hours with fair and warm weather - Sea quite smooth - Barometer29.95 to 30.06 - 1st asst working on the road today - Keeper painting chimney in work-room & working on annual quarterly and monthly reports

June 10: Light wind to moderate and fresh breeze North these 24 hours with clear fine weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.12 to 30.00 - Keeper working on Annual & Quarterly reports & showing two visitors in Tower - 1st asst working on the road today

June 11: Fresh breeze North these 24 hours with clear fine and little cool - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.00 to 29.93 today - Keeper spading and working in garden - 1st asst cutting grass arround Dwelling & showing nine visitors in the Tower

June 12: Fresh and moderate breeze North these 24 hours with fair weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.93 to 29.86 - 1st asst cutting grass around Dwelling and went fishing - Keeper working in garden and working on quarterly and annual reports

June 13: Moderate breeze and light North wind these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours light rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.83 to 29.98 - 1st asst went to Newport after mail and supplies - Keeper working on annual & quarterly reports - Keeper gave 2nd asst Ewald Glass 7 days leave from sta the 4th should have returned the 12th but did not - Received a letter from him the 13th stating that he would not come back it was to lonesome for him - Keeper went to Newport to send report & his letter to Inspector

June 14: Moderate breeze North these 24 hours with fair weather during 24 hours - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.05 today - 1st asst saking up hay arround Dwelling & showing three visitors in Tower & went fishing - Keeper went to Newport after mail and supplies

June 15: Moderate breeze to light North wind these 24 hours with fair weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.05 to 30.15 today - 1st asst went fishing - Keeper went over into the woods making road to haul wood and working annual reports

June 16: Light N. to variable winds and calm these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours light rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair and warm - Sea smooth- Barometer 30.14 - 1st asst went to Newport after supplies - Keeper went over to see about hauling wood - Mr Whitten hauling wood for keepers

June 13: "Keeper gave 2nd asst Ewald Glass 7 days leave from sta the 4th should have returned the 12th but did not - Received a letter from him the 13th stating that he would not come back it was to lonesome for him - Keeper went to Newport to send report & his letter to Inspector"
