1902 MONTH. DAY. RECORD OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AT THE STATION, BAD WEATHER, &c.

December 1: Gale South to fresh breeze W. N. W. these 24 hours first part of 24 hours rain - Last part of 24 hours frequent rain & hail squalls - Sea rough - Barometer 29.58 to 30.10 - 1st asst repairing garden fence - Keeper washing 2nd asst removing water in his celler.

2: Moderate breeze to light W. wind these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours frequent rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair weather - Sea very rough - Barometer 30.23 - 1st asst went fishing - 2nd asst working in shop - Keeper writing in Office today

3: Fresh breeze to Gale S. these 24 hours with hard rain - Sea rough - General duties for the day - Barometer 29.60

4: Moderate breeze S. West to West these 24 hours - first part of 24 hours requent rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair and light rain showers - 1st & 2nd assts went to newport after supplies - The Gale yesterday loosened lightning rod on Tower - Barometer 29.60 to 29.95

5: Moderate and fresh breeze S. to S. W. and West thse 24 hours with frequent rain showers - Sea moderately smooth - Barometer 29.95 - General duties for the day - 1st asst taking covers off of Mineral oil cases preparing to empty (???) them

6: Light West to S. East wind these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair & dou (???) dry - Sea moderately smooth - Barometer 29.95 - 1st asst went fishing - Keeper and assts renailing Lightning Rod on Tower that became loosened in the Gale of the 3rd Also replaced signal halyards on flag pole that the gale broke

7: Moderate breeze to light East wind these 24 hours First part of 24 hours fair - Last part of 24 hours light rain - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.62 to 29.73 - 1st asst went fishing - General duties for the day

8: Gale E to S. East and South these 24 hours with rain and thick weather - Sea very rough - Barometer 29.46 - Keeper washing and cleaning in his quarters - Also writing in the Office

9: Light South to variable winds these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours rain - Last part of 24 hours fair - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.46 to 29.68 - 1st asst went fishing Keeper and 2nd asst went to Newport after mail and supplies

10: Fresh breeze East thse 24 hours - First part of 24 hours fair weather - Last part of 24 hours rain - Sea very smooth - General duties for the day - Barometer 29.50 - 1st asst showing one visitor in Tower - Keeper & 2nd asst working on road

11: Fresh breeze East to S. East these 24 hours with frequent rain squalls - Sea very rough - Barometer 29.55 - Keeper cleaning in his quarters - 1st asst went fishing - Keeper and assts putting 200 Gallons of oil in Oil butts - 2nd asst working in shop

12: Gale S. E to South and S. W. first part of 24 hours with rain squalls - Last part of 24 hours moderate breeze S. W. to fresh breeze S. rain showers - Sea rough - General duties for day - 1st asst went fishing - 2nd asst putting dressing on garden

13: Light S. East wind these 24 hours with light rain showers and fair - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - 2nd asst putting dressing on garden - 1st asst went fishing - Keeper went to Newport after mail & supplies and to meet his Sister from East left at 1. P.M. - 2nd asst went to Newport after clams

14: Light East wind light rain showers first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours clear & cool - Sea very smooth - Barometer30.10 to 29.95 - 2nd asst woking on the road next to Beach - 1st asst went fishing - Keeper returned to Station at 2.30. P.M.

15: Light East wind to fresh breeze South these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light rain - Sea quite rough - General duties for day - Keeper went to Newport to meet his Sister coming from the East left the sta at 8.30. A.M.

16: Light East wind these 24 hours with clear fine and cool weather - Sea quite rough - Barometer 29.80 to 30.15 - 1st asst went fishing - 2nd asst putting dressing on garden - Keeper returned to station at 30.30 P.M.

17: Light East wind thse 24 hours with clear fine and cool weather - Sea moderately smooth - General duties for the day - Barometer 30.00 to 29.95 - 2nd asst cleaning out Barn & putting dressing on garden - 1st asst went to Newport after mail & supplies
