October 1: Light N. East wind to moderate breeze North these24 hours with fair and warm weather - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.05 to 29.88 - 2nd asst sawing wood and putting some in his cellar - Keeper working - General duties for the day

October 2: Light N. to East wind first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours fresh to moderate breeze East with clear fine and warm during 24 hours - 1st asst showing three visitors in tower - General duties for day - Keeper went to Newport after mail & supplies - Barometer 29.77

October 3: Light South wind these 24 hours warm and thick fog - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Barometer 29.78 to 29.92 - 2nd asst working in his cellar Keeper cleaning Barn & Wagon house - 1st asst went to Newport after supplies

October 4: Light S. to North wind there 24 hours - First part of 24 hours thick damp fog - Last part of 24 hours thick fog and fair & sea smooth - Barometer 29.94 - Keeper went to Newport after supplies - 2nd asst putting a pane of glass in window

October 5: Light North wind first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light wind to moderate breeze South with thick fog during 24 hours - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Barometer 29.94 to 29.97 - 1st asst went fishing today

October 6: Light South wind thick damp fog first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light south wind heigh dry fog & fair - Sea quite smooth - Barometer 29.76 to 29.85 - 1st asst went fishing - Keeper working - 2nd asst went to pick Blackberries

October 7: Light South wind & calm to moderate breeze these 24 hours with light rain showers - Sea rough - General duties for the day - Barometer 29.84 to 30.02 - 2nd asst repairing cement walk in rear of Dwelling - 1st asst went to Newport after mail & supplies

October 8: Light South & North wind and calm these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours heigh dry fog and little damp - Last part of 24 hours clear & fine - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.18 - Keeper went to Newport after mail and supplies

October 9: Light variable winds and calm with fiar weather and thick fog - last part of 24 hours moderate to fresh breeze North fair - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.20 to 30.10 - Keeper went to Newport after supplies - 1st and 2nd asst stowing food away for Keeper

October 10: Fresh breeze N. to light N. East wind these 24 hours with clear fine and warm - Sea quite rough - Keepers changing Burner and Lamp - 2nd asst working - 1st asst went fishing and showing visitors in the Tower - Had eight visitors today

October 11: Light North to East and N. East wind first part of 24 hours with clear fine and warm - Last part of 24 hours light South wind thick fog - Sea quite smooth - Barometer 29.85 to 29.70 - 2nd asst went to Newport after supplies - 1st asst went fishing

October 12: Light South wind dry fog these 24 hours - Sea moderately smooth - Barometer 29.70 to 29.85 - General duties for day - 1st asst went fishing

October 13: Light South to North wind these 24 hours with heigh dry fog and fair - Sea quite smooth - Barometer 29.88 to 29.94 - Keeper working - 1st asst went to Newport to procure supplies - Keeper & 2nd asst showing visitors in tower - Had thirteen visitors

October 14: Light wind to moderate breeze South with frequent rain showers - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Barometer 30.04 to 30.10 - Keeper went to Newport after mail and supplies - Keeper also writing in office

October 15: Light South wind these 24 hours with rain - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.10 to 29.94 - 1st asst went fishing - General duties for the day - 2nd asst showing one visitor in tower - Keeper and 1st asst cleaning oil cans & measurers

October 16: Moderate breeze S. W. to W. and N. West these 24 hours first part of 24 hours rain - Last part of 24 hours clear fine weather - Sea moderately smooth - Barometer 29.94 to 30.12 - 1st asst went fishing - General duties for the day

October 17: Light North wind these 24 hours with heigh dry fog during 24 hours - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.20 - Keeper and 1st asst taking covers off of Coal Oil cases - 2nd asst went to Toledo to procure supplies and for recreation left sta at 7:30A.M.
