17 Fresh and moderate breeze north these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours thick fog with some smoke - Sea smooth - Last part of 24 hours fair with some smoke - Barometer 29.88 to 29.92 - General duties for day - Keeper & 1st asst went to Newport after mail & supplies. U.S. Light-House Tender Manzanita arrived from the south and crossed into Yaquina at 4:30 P.M. & landed coal.

18 Fresh and moderate breeze north with fair weather and some smoke - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.92 to 30.00 today. General duties for the day - 1st asst showing four visitors in the tower - Keeper writeing in the office.

19 Fresh and moderate breeze to light north wind these 24 hours with fair weather and thick smoke - Sea smooth - Barometer 30.00 - 1st asst takeing covers off of oil cases & cleaning out chimenys on dwelling - Keeper & 1st asst stowing coal away in wagon house - 2nd asst went on south beach getting & having wood hauled for the winter - Mr. Macdonald hauling coal from Newport to the station. U.S. Light House Tender Manzanita crossed out of Yaquina and passed the sta at 7 A.M. going north.

20 Light north to south wind these 24 hours with fair weather and thick smoke - Sea smooth - General duties for day - Barometer 29.96 - 1st asst went to Newport after mail & supplies - 2nd asst getting wood on beach - Keeper working on reports.

21 Light wind to moderate breeze south these 24 hours - First part of 24 hours thick smoke & fog - Last part of 24 hours thick smoke & light rain showers - Sea smooth - Barometer 29.96 to 29.72 - General duties for day. 1st and 2nd assts putting wood in woodsheds - Keeper went to Newport to get supplies & post & get the mail.

23 Light variable winds these 24 hours with frequent light rain showers - Sea quite rough - Barometer 29.50 to 29.60 today. Keeper & assts putting 200 gallons of oil in oil butts - 2nd asst putting wood in is wood-shed - 1st asst working in his garden.
