1 Light to squally south east wind rain sea mod. Bar 29.92. General duties for the day. Keeper and assts showing 102 visitors in tower.

2 Fresh southerly breeze thunder and lightning rain squalls sea rough. Bar 29. Keeper and asst keepers working in there respective quarters. 2 visitors shown in tower.

3 Light north west wind cloudy dry sea smooth. Bar 29.96. Keeper and 2nd asst showing visitors in the tower.

4 Light south east wind hazy damp to rain sea smooth. Bar 29.70.Keeper and 2nd asst working in tower and getting up sand from the beach.

5 Light south east wind rain squalls sea smooth. Bar 29.72. Keeper and 2nd asst working in barn. Keeper showing 15 visitors in the tower.

6 Light south east wind rain to dry sea smooth. Bar 29.70. Keeper getting up sand from the beach. 2nd asst stowing fire wood in the barn.

7 Squally south west winds rain sea moderate. Bar 29.90. 2nd asst putting wood in the barn. Keeper went to Newport for supplies. McDonalds team delivered ??? into oil house (5 chests about).

11 Calm to light north east wind clear dry to fog sea smooth. Bar 30. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning up grounds. S.P. Machy delivered one cord of wood.

12 Light to fresh north west breeze dense fog damp sea mod. Bar 30. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning up grounds. Carpenter finished iron work on oil house ??? hanging door.

13 Light northerly breeze dense fog damp to clear dry sea smooth. Bar. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning out oil house and grounds. Carpenter finished oil house.

14 Fresh easterly breeze clear dry and hot heavy west swell. Bar 29.8. Keeper went to Newport for supplies. 2nd asst and carpenter painted oil house.

15 Moderate south east wind cloudy dry sea moderate. Bar 30.01. General duties for the day. Keeper and asst keepers showing visitors in tower.

16 Moderate southerly wind cloudy dry sea smooth. Bar 30.10. Keeper and 2nd asst washing and showing visitors in tower. Carpenter started to work on boundary fence. S.P. Machy delivered cord wood.

17 Fresh north west breeze clear dry sea rough. Bar 30.12. Keeper working in the shop. 2nd asst went to Newport for supplies. 10 visitors shown in tower.

18 Fresh north west breeze clear dry to fog sea rough. Bar 30.12. Keeper and 2nd asst working in shop mixing paint and painting ladder & front of house. Keeper inspected quarters of asst keepers, found in good order.

19 Light north east wind fog to clear dry sea smooth. Bar 30.10. Keeper and 2nd asst painting roof of barn east side. 1st asst went to Newport for supplies.

20 Light to fresh east wind clear dry to fog sea smooth. Bar 29.96. Keeper and 2nd asst painted roof of barn west side and front of oil house. 1st asst showed visitors in tower.

21 Light south east wind dense fog damp sea smooth to calm. Bar 29.92. 2nd asst cleaning up grounds. Keeper went to Newport for supplies.

22 Light north east wind fog to clear dry sea calm. Bar 30.06. General duties for the day. Keeper and 1st asst showing visitors in tower.

23 Calm to light north west wind with fog at times sea calm. Bar 30.10. Keeper and 2nd asst painted oil house and showed visitors in tower and cleaned up grounds.

24 Calm to fresh northerly breeze clear dry to fog sea moderate. Bar 30.14. Keeper painting and scraping off old paint on trils. 2nd asst went to Newport for mail. Steam Schooner drifting around siabled 5 miles SW of station 9AM to 2:00 PM then went north.

25 Fresh northerly breeze clear dry sea moderate. Bar 30.10. Keeper and 2nd asst painted all corner boards and water table of main dwelling.

26 Light north to light south wind clear dry to dense fog sea smooth. Bar 30. Keeper and 2nd asst painted north door of barn and all windows & frames in carpenter shop. 26 Keeper inspected quarters of all keepers found in good order.

27 Light southerly wind hazy to dense fog sea smooth. Bar 29.96. Keeper and 2nd asst scraping and painting out burner and showing visitors in the tower. 27th McDonald & ??? delivered one load of lumber to day.

28 Dead calm to light variable winds hazy dry sea calm. Bar 30.02. Keeper went to Newport for supplies. 2nd asst cleaning up grounds. Mcdonald.
