1st Fresh south east breeze squally rain sea moderate. Bar 29. Keeper and 2nd asst painting shingles of front porch and building bulkhead north side of his quarters.

2nd Fresh south breeze to south west squalls rain sea moderate. Bar 29. Second asst helping carpenter and building bulkhead north of his quarters. Keeper went to Newport for supplies.

3 Fresh south west breeze squally rain sea rough. Bar 29.72. General duties for the day.

4 Fresh southerly breeze to half a gale rain sea rough. Bar 29.70. Keeper and 2nd asst working in the carpenter shop.

5 Fresh south east wind rain sea rough. Bar 29.66. Keeper and asst keepers went to Newport to vote. Keeper visited quarters of 1st and 2nd assts.

6 Fresh south to south west breeze squally hail rain sea rough. Bar. Carpenter finished there work and left station for Portland 2:30 PM.

7 Fresh south east breeze heavy rain and hail sea rough. Bar 29. Keeper put in kitchen pump. 1st and 2nd asst cleaning shop and grounds.

8 Fresh south east wind to half a gale heavy rain sea rough. Bar 29. 1st and 2nd asst working in the tower. Keeper went to Newport for mail and supplies.

9 Fresh south to south west breeze squally rain sea rough. Bar 29.48. Keeper and asst keepers cleaning up grounds. Keeper visited quarters of asst keepers found in good order.

10 Moderate to fresh south west breeze dry to rain squalls sea rough. Bar. Keeper putting roof of front porch. 2nd asst building bulkhead. 1st asst showing visitors in tower.

22 Light variable winds and calm cloudy dry sea smooth. Bar 30. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning carpenter shop. 1st asst washing clothes out.

23 Calm and light south east wind dry light fog in PM sea smooth. Bar 30. 1st and 2nd asst cleaning out the barn. Keeper went to Newport for supplies.
