2 Fresh south east breeze rain misty fog sea moderate. Bar 29.90. General duties for the day.

3 Moderate south east wind fog and mist showers sea mod. Bar 30. Keeper working in garden. 2nd asst putting shell around his dwelling. 1st asst went to Newport for supplies.

4 Moderate southerly breeze misty fog rain sea moderate. Bar 30.30. Keeper and asst keepers trimming borders around the walls and working around the grounds.

5 Light northerly wind fog to clear dry sea smooth. Bar 30.38. Keeper and asst keepers trimming borders of walls and working in carpenter shop.

6 Light northerly wind clear dry sea smooth. Bar 30.04. Keeper visited quarters of asst keepers found in good order. Repaired hinges to tower windows.

7 Light to fresh northerly breeze dry sea moderate. Bar 30.20. Keeper and asst keepers whitewashing interior of tower and repairing hinges on small windows.

8 Fresh northerly breeze hazy dry sea moderate to smooth. Bar 30.10. McDonald delivered two barrels cement, one box kalsomine, one box containing 5 gall can boiled oil. 1st asst went to Newport for supplies.

9 Light to fresh northerly wind hazy fog at times sea mod. Bar 30.12. General duties for the day. 2nd asst showed 6 visitors in the tower.

10 Light north to north west wind rain squalls sea mod. Bar 30.10. Keeper painting in his quarters. 1st asst working in garden. 2nd asst went to Newport.
