1 South to light north west wind clear dry sea smooth. Bar. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning up grounds and working in the shop.

2 Light to fresh north west breeze hazy dry sea mod. Bar 30. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning up old barbed wire from boundary fence.

3 Light south west to north west rain squalls sea rough. Bar 29. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning interior of lantern and lens. Keeper inspected quarters of asst keepers.

4 Moderate north west breeze rain squalls to dry heavy west swell. Bar. Keeper and asst keepers polishing lens. Carpenter commenced work on foundation to finish panels.

5 Mod to fresh northerly breeze hazy dry to lt fog sea mod. Bar 30.00. Plate glass, top tier broken by ducks flying against it at 10 PM. nicked the lens in places. F.H. Mcdonald delivered today 3 box wicks & 1 metalic brown paint. 3 pumps = 3 pails. 10 ??? box ???.

6 Light north east wind clear dry sea moderate. Bar 30.20. General duties for the day. Keeper went to Newport to see about the annual supplies.

7 Light northeast wind dry to lt. north wind rain sea mod. Bar 30.18. Keeper and assts keeper replaced broken pane of lantern glass. Removed barbed wire, nails, oil. F.H. Mcdonald delivered some of the annual supplies.

8 Calm to light north west wind hazy dry sea smooth. Bar 30.14. Keeper taking account of annual supplies unpacking boxes etc. 2nd asst went to Newport for supplies.

9 Calm to light north west wind clear dry to fog in P.M. heavy west swell. Bar 30. Keeper and 2nd asst polished all brass work in tower. Mcdonald delivered one load lumber.

10 Calm foggy to clear dry to fog in P.M. heavy west swell. Bar 30.24. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning up old wire from boundary fence. F.H. Mcdonald delivered 26 cases of mineral oil and took 77 empty cases to Newport.

11 Calm to light north east wind dry sea heavy west swell. Bar 30.2. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaned walls of tower and scrubbed tower stairs.

12 Calm to light east wind clear dry warm sea smooth. Bar 30.0. 2nd asst scrubbed floor of tower washed all windows and cleaned up work room north side. Keeper went to Newport for supplies.

13 Light south east wind foggy dry sea smooth. Bar 30.04. General duties for the day. 12 visitors shown in the tower.

14 Light south east wind light fog at times dry sea smooth. Bar 30.0. Keeper and 2nd asst cleaning up north work room of tower and showing visitors in tower.

15 Light south east wind dense fog misty damp sea mod. Bar 30.16. Keeper whitewashing interior of tower and watch room. 2nd asst went to Newport on an errand. Pindale delivered lumber for the panels.

16 Fresh south east breeze dense fog misty rain sea rough. Bar 30. Keeper working in the shop. 2nd asst painting celing at 4th landing in tower. Carpenter working on front porch.

17 Light west to north west rain squalls to clear dry sea rough. Bar 30.00. Keeper working in shop. 2nd asst painting ceiling of 4 floor of tower. 1st asst went to Newport for supplies. Carpenter built new back stairs to wood shed.

18 Light south to gale from south east rain stormy sea rough. Bar 29. Keeper and 2nd asst running wire on boundary fence oil cases & ???. Remainder of oil need ??? to day. Mcdonald's team took away the last of the empty.

19 Fresh to half gale from south east then squally rain hail from south west sea rough. Bar. 2nd asst working on boundary fence. Mcdonald team delivered copper gutters etc. Keeper went to Newport for supplies.

20 Light northerly wind squally rain to clear sea moderate. Bar 30.16. Superintendant Robert Warrack inspected station to day. General duties for the day.

21 Fresh south east breeze rain sea rough. Bar 29.60. Keeper and 2nd asst running barbed wire around boundary fence & working in the shop.

22 Fresh south east breeze squally rain sea rough. Bar 29.70. Keeper working in shop helping carpenter. 2nd asst went to Newport for supplies.

23 Fresh south west breeze thunder and lightning squally heavy rain to clear sea rough. Bar. Keeper and 2nd asst working in carpenter shop and in the tower. Keeper visited quarters of asst keepers found in good order.

24 Fresh south east wind squally rain sea rough. Bar 29.50. Keeper helping carpenter soldering gutters etc. 2nd asst fastening barbed wire to boundary fence.

25 Fresh south west breeze squally rain sea rough. Bar 29.75. Keeper and 2nd asst working in the shop and in the tower. Had fire started in tower water heater smoked badly. Mill material for front porch received.

26 Light south east wind cloudy dry heavy west swell. Bar 29.85. 2nd asst cleaning up grounds. Keeper went to Newport for mail & supplies.

27 Light south east wind dry sea smooth. Bar 29.94. Keeper painting cornice of front porch. 2nd asst building bulk head east side of his quarters.

28 Moderate south east breeze rain 29.92. Keeper put priming coat paint on doors and windows of front porch. 2nd asst building bulkhead on east side of his quarters.

29 Westerly to south west rain squalls sea moderate. Bar 30.02. Keeper putting in glass in cellar windows. 2nd asst building bulkhead on north side of his quarters.

30 East to south east wind cloudy dry sea smooth. Bar 30.02. Keeper painting and putting cellar windows of dwelling. 2nd asst building bulkhead north side of his quarters. 2nd asst left station for Newport at 3:00 PM.

31 Fresh east to south east breeze dry sea smooth. Bar 30.01. Keeper painted roof of front porch. 2nd asst returned to station at 11:00 AM.
