7The route from Corvalles to Yaquina Bay, is said to be but forty miles, and an important line of communication between the interior and the coast at that point. A sea-coast light and fog-signal on Cape Foulweather would subserve the interests dof general commerce in continuation of the general plan for lighting the Pacific coast of the United States. Of the twenty light stations of the United States on the line of the Pacific coast, there is but one in Oregon.
