To Vanda coerulea Charlesworthii (votes, unanimous), from Messrs. Charlesworth, Hayward's Heath. A true albino, the flowers being pure white, without a trace of colour. (Fig. 127.)

Award of Merit.

To Laelio-Cattleya × 'Lustre' gigantea (C. Luddemanniana × L.-C. callistoglossa) (votes, unanimous), from Lieut.-Col. G. L. Holford, C.I.E., C.V.O., Westonbirt (gr. Mr. H. G. Alexander). Plant dwarf; flower large and of firm substance; sepals and petals white, tinged and mottled with rose; lip large, claret-purple, lighter towards the front.

To Laelio-Cattleya × 'Ortrude' superba (L. anceps × C. Dowiana aurea) (votes, unanimous), from Lieut.-Col. G. L. Holford. A showy flower with cream-white sepals and petals, tinged with rose, and ruby-red lip with golden lines from the base.

To Brasso-Cattleya × 'Madame Hye' superba (B. Digbyana × C. Harrisoniana) (votes, unanimous), from Lieut.-Col. G. L. Holford. A finely formed flower, white tinged with lilac.

To Brasso-Cattleya × Digbyano-Mossiae 'Queen Alexandra,' Glenthorne variety (B. Digbyana × C. Mossiae Wageneri) (votes, unanimous), from Messrs. Wilson, Hayward's Heath. A large pure-white flower of fine shape.

Botanical Certificate.

To Saccolabium dasypogon, from Sir Trevor Lawrence, Bart. (gr. Mr. W. H. White). A dwarf species with short clusters of yellow flowers and white bearded lip.

To Masdevallia Ortgiesiana, from Sir Trevor Lawrence, Bart. A tufted plant with flowers an inch long on slender scapes, white with purple stripes.

To Dendrobium Coelogyne striatum (votes, unanimous), from Mr. H. A. Tracy, Twickenham. Flowers yellow, striped with claret-red; lip blackish-purple. (Fig. 131.)

Cultural Commendation.

To Mr. Hunter, gr. to his Grace the Duke of Marlborough, for Vanda coerulea, with four spikes of flowers.

To Mr. H. Ballantine, gr. to Sir H. Schröder, for Cypripedium insigne Sanderianum with ten flowers.

[Spicerianum] num) (votes, unanimous), from G. F. Moore, Esq. (gr. Mr. Page). Dorsal sepal large, white with a green base; petals and lip greenish, the petals tipped with white.

To Cypripedium × Thompsoni (villosum aureum × 'Calypso') (votes, 10 for, 3 against), from G. F. Moore, Esq. Lower half of the dorsal sepal rose-purple, upper half white. Petals and lip yellowish tinged and veined with purple.

To Cypripedium × 'Graceæ,' var. 'W. H. Page,' (niveum × Boxallii atratum) (votes, unanimous), from G. F. Moore, Esq. Flowers white tinged with purple, the upper sepal having broad irregular lines of chocolate-purple.

Other Exhibits.

Baron Schröder (Ballantine|gr. Mr. Ballantine]]) showed a fine inflorescence of Odontoglossum × elegans, 'Eastwood Park variety,' and two forms of Cypripedium × Lathamianum.

M. C. Beranek, Paris, sent two hybrid Cypripediums.

J. Taylor, Esq., Reigate, exhibited fine spikes of Dendrobium speciosum.

H. T. Pitt, Esq. (gr. Mr. Thurgood), sent Cypripedium Pittianum.

To Cypripedium villosum 'The Premier' (votes, unanimous), from Francis Wellesley, Esq., Westfield, Woking (gr. Mr. Hopkins). A massive form of thicker substance than typical villosum, and fine colour.

To Lælio-Cattleya × 'Sunray' var. superba (L. cinnabarina × C. superba) (votes, unanimous), from Messrs. Charlesworth. Flowers several on erect spikes, orange-colour, with crimson front to the labellum.

To Cypripedium × aureum Hyeanum (nitens Sallieri Hyeanum × Spicerianum) (votes, unanimous), from F. Menteith Ogilvie, Esq., The Shrubbery, Oxford (gr. Mr. Balmforth). A large greenish flower with chocolate-purple band up the dorsal sepal, and white upper half.

Cultural Commendation.

To Mr. W. H. White, Orchid-grower to Sir Trevor Lawrence, Bart., for Phalænopsis Aphrodite, with eighty flowers and buds on a branched spike.
