Forth Worth, Texas, March 28th. 1899.

To the Honorable Mayor, & City Council.
Fort Worth, Texas.

Gentlemen:

Referring to lots 18 & 19 of Block 2 of Wolcott´s Addition to
Fort Worth, your petitioner, the undersigned, hereby represents to your Honors
the to your Honors the following, as a copy of statement of delinquent taxes against said
property, as given him by the City Tax Collector:

Year. To whom assessed. Value. Tax. Cost. Total.
1890 F.M.Marple lots 18 &19 $1000. $10.80 $2.50 $13.30
1892 Unknown lot 18 800. + 10.80 10.80
1893 ¨ lot 18 & 19 1900+ 25.27 25.27
1894 W.E.Cox ¨ ¨ ¨ 1000. 15.50 15.50
1895 Unknown ¨ ¨ ¨ 1000 17.50 17.50
$82.37
In the year 1892, lot 18 was assessed ¨Unknown¨ and valued at $800, &
in 1893 both lots 18 & 19 were ¨Unknown¨ and valued at $1900.

He thinks both of said valuations must have been mistakes, as in his
judgment said lot 18, being improved, never was worth over $400, nor both
lots 18 & 19 over $1000; and, since acquiring [scratch out] possession of said property
less than a year ago, he has expended about $150 in repairs and improvements
thereon, and been dilligently seeking a purchaser, and the very best offer
he has been able to get was $800, which he is forced to believe is now it's
reasonable value.

He prays this Council to reduce the valuation of said lot 18 for the
year 1892 to $400, and lots 18 & 19 for the year 1893 to $1000, and hereby
pledges himself to fully redeem both said lots, at once, if this request be
granted.

Respectfully submitted,
C.O.Knowles

by JF Wellington Jr.his Agt,

I recommend the value's asked for as in is
all the property is worth.
