Everlasting Rolls

1 quart milk scalded + cooled
1 cup mashed potatoes, 1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening 2 teaspoons Baking
Powder 1 teaspoon soda, salt
1/2 cake yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup warm
water (you can use whole cake yeast)

Make sponge of 3/4 of flour and other
ingredients let rise to be light and
bubbly add more flour but do not
make too stiff let rise till double
push down let rise again it is ready
to use or place in greased utensil
use as wanted only keep tightly
covered and greased on top if kept any
length of time then work down each
day, makes good coffee cake also
dough nuts.
