My wife fully intended
to be in Amesbury on Fast
Day, but finds herself unable
to go, her health not per-
mitting. Hope you find her
uncle in good health & well
disposed to concede whatever
you asked. My wife thinks it
may be better she was not there, as
it would have looked like an ar-
rangement, & this would have been
displeasing to him. His deafness tends
to make him suspicious. Glad to hear
of your improved health from the kind
[acts ?] of your son.
