Page 5The Deposition of Robert Fleming taken by Consul That Robert Flemming an uncle of the Deponent in That this Deponent of that Time had lately mar- | Page 5The Deposition of Robert Fleming taken by Consul to be Evidence in the case of Negro Jim vs William Curren — That Robert Flemming an uncle of the Deponent in his life time resided in the State of Pennsylvania near the Maryland line, that he was a Tanner by Trade with whom this Deponent learn't the Tanner Trade, that the said Uncle died early in August 1784, and after his Death the Father of this Deponent purchased the stock of leather on hand in the shop and Tanyard of the said Robert the uncle [which ?] Purchase was for the Deponent — that this Deponent of that time lately mar ried the Daughter of Nathaniel Patterson who lived in Maryland and after [the?] said Death of the said Robert the uncle other purchase [?] stock of leather aforesaid, this Deponent about the 12th day of August 1784 work to the said Tanyard & lived is the House of Mr. S. Robert deceased in the Family of his Widow, for [the?] sole purpose of working up the said stock of leather — that this Deponent carried his Knife with him and they lived in the Family of the said Widow, paid |
