Your letter of the 25th ult and
marked Nov 12 recd, Now you think I
have not written you as often as I ought
Now that may be so but I have
really been flattering myself that I
had done well. The fact is I have
not been here much and this
is about the only place where
it has been convenient for me
to write.

Clem has sent me in
a profile of the line at Promontory avoiding
the tunnel and it looks better than I expected

During the next week the Mormon
Contractors say they will have the
whole work covered from Ogden to [Monument?]
Ph [then?] If I have the right of
way secured, I shall be in [Condeteor?]
