The escape channel joins
the Hindun River at a point in
its course 20 miles below the junction
of the West Kalli Nuddi; at this
point the bed of the Hindun is
38.06 feet below the bed of the canal,
a difference of level which will lead
to works of a more extended des-
-cription than those before described
at the Khutowli and Mahomed
Aboo's Escapes.

The disposition of works de-
-pending on this excess of slope
will be as follows:

[table follows]

Distance from the canal to the Hindun [?] 5..3..445 [?] 5 miles
Total fall from the bed of the canal to the

bed of the Hindun River 38.06 feet
Required slope for the tail of escape head 1.0

Slope of channel @ 1.5 ft per mile 7.5 8.50

Balance superfluous slope 29.56 feet
[table ends]

To overcome which 4 falls of 7 1/2 feet
will be required. Of these 4 falls
the leading one, or that nearest
to the canal would be adapted
to the passage of the Main Right
Rajbuha, and the remaining
3 would occupy positions at
intermediate distances, providing
the means of cross communica-
-tion by bridges.

The [illegible text, struck through] excavated
channel is [being done, struck through] in progress
at a rate of Rs 1..8..0 per 1000 cubic
feet.

The head work is as in the
case of Mahomed Aboo's Escape
built of Kunkur and brick, the
former being confined to the found-
-ations and the massive parts of
the structure.

The proportions of material
used in the cement are as fol-
-lows
