Kalat Siman 5 45 A.M. Temp 43° Baro L. 27.83 clear, calm
to light var. #2 to #3 Breezze from 8 30 A.M. to 3 00 P.M. W.N.W.
Left 7 35 going up small valley winding from E. to S. to 8 30
Baziher, a ruin class C. a number of jambs and [illegible] standing
& walls of small [towers?]. Took sights from tower. Left. 9 25
arrived Surkanya 10 02 a small R. town situated near head of
small wadi in a slight depression making it invisible from all
points until one is almost upon it. Al least 1 day. bldgs well
preserved with one church, and underground kitchen. Left 11 45
going E. to 12 23 Banastor in a wadi - a town standing & 2
bldgs. partly standing very large stairs used. A few other foundations
& evidence of ancient habitation - small place. Left 1 50 going
N by W. up wadu & then ascending hill to 2 45 Kneshin, a small
ruin class D. one bldgs partly rebuilt standing. Left 2 57 going
N. arried 3 20 Burdy Hedar, a ruin few inhabitants in tents
a medium sized place with Ruins of 3 churches - one nearly
complete, one with side walls gone but with 2 aisles of monoliths
and arches on perfect condition - 12 arches all together, one church
nearly completely ruined but will 2 arches standing. took sights from
them arched. a tall tower also standing & some door [jars?] & [illegible]
Left 4 45 crossing 2 wadis very rough & rocky no path had to lead
hour part of way going N. arriving camp 5 30 Keti Nabo
