small river evidently a small settlement around a convent
small church standing tomb and wine purses. Left 9 23 on along
ridge on good road to 9 37 Basutan, an early Muslim garve yeard
2 pine trees, a wely, a small arabic castle built on ancient
church, few other ruins, inhabited by some 8 or 10
families Kurds. It overlooks the plain "Idy-Djumch" to the north
Left 11 03 arrived 11 43 Burdjkeh, small church standing &
a town with 2 walls standing few other remains in foundation
one a small settlement to the N. of road to Aleppo. Left 1 18 going
120° arrived 1 37 Fofirtin small town completley ruined on
Aleppo road going down Wadi. [illegible] of church standing. Left
3 58 arrived Batuta 5 00. Left 5 26 arrived 5 50
