2d. That there are two large veins of coal superior
to any now known in the State, and that it can be
used for smelting puposes.

3d. That being between these two great railroads
gives this company the advantage of competition for
the freights.

4th. That the improvements necessary to make the
mines profitable are already made, the best shaft in
the State, being almost entirely free from water, and
that the capacity of the machinery, now in good
working order, is equal to 600 tons per day.

5th. That the location is healthy, and will attract
the permanent settlement of miners and mechanics by
adopting a liberal policy on the part of the company.

6th. That the proposed plan of redemption of
$25,000 of the stock per annum, and in the hands of
good men is a sure guarantee that the small subscrib-
ers will, if they desire to surrender their stock, re-
ceive the full value of their subscription in coal, at net
cost to the company, delivered in Chicago; also, par-
ticipating in all the dividends that may be made upon
the stock while standing in their respective names
upon the books of the company.

The title to this property is indisputable, there
having been but one transfer since the Government
patent was issued.

The lands adjoining are controlled by the same par-
ties, and a guarantee will be given that no other shafts
