ily believes only five thousand three hundred and ninety-
eight 70/100 dollars or about that sum, Orator verily believes on
a strict calculation it would fall short of that sum - Orator
further states that sd notes and the sd two sums so paid as afd.
with legal interest amounting to the sum last stated towit the
sum of five thousand three hundred & ninety eight 70/100 is
to the best of his remembrance all that he in good faith
and equity owes to the sd Turnipseed and the amount of
the several sums named in the several bills of sale and
the two notes purporting to be given for the hire of the sd.
slaves as afd. beyond the said sum of five thousand three hun-
dred and ninety-eight 70/100 dollars is illegal usury making
about the sum of three thousand seven hundred and twen-
ty two 28/100 dollars of illegal usury, being this sum over
the amount really due with legal interest.
XIV. Orator further sheweth that the sd deed of
trust and all the notes before mentioned except
the note for ninety 29/100 dollars and the sd two notes
pretended to be given for the hires of the sd. slaves
as afd. have been delivered up to Orator, all of which
to wit the sd deed of trust and the sd notes except as
afd orator here makes exhibits to this his bill of com-
plaint, marked exhibitis, and numbered from one
to thirteen which sd several exhibits orator
prays may be taken and considered as part of
this his bill of complaint - Orator states that the
sd note for ninety 29/100 was paid after suit was brought
on it, and was not delivered to him he therefore ex-
hibits a copy of the same taken from the endorsement
on the writ, which is marked exhibit & numbered XIV.
