made a defendant to this his bill of complaint, and
that he be required on his corporal oath, true and per-
fect answers to make to the several matters herein before
stated as fully and particularly as tho he were herein
particularly interrogated to each of the several state-
ments herein made - and especially that he be re-
quired to answer.

I. Did you not purchase the three several
notes (herein mentioned) for thirteen hundred dollars
each and made exhibits to this bill, and did not orator
pay you the sum of nine hundred and fifty seven 34/100
as stated.

II. Did you not purchase the note for sixty five
Dollars as herein stated and exhibited.

III. Were not the two notes one for seventeen hun-
dred and ninety six 12 1/2 /100 and the other for eighteen hun-
dred dollars, and made exhibits numbered VI & VII
given in the place and stead of the sd four notes as
herein before stated ? and if not then state explicitly
what was the consideration of the said notes, and
for what purpose they were made.

IV. Were not the sd two notes No VI & VII de-
livered up at the time the three notes dated the
second of August one thousand eight hundred
and forty one were given & exhibited and num-
bered, VIII, IX, & X and were not the sd three notes given
for the sd two notes with the interest added, if not, state
particularly for and upon what consideration the
notes were made, and if for the sd two notes & the interest
added then state at what rate the interest was coun-
ted? and whether the said interest was compounded?

V. Was not the said deed of trust given to secure
the sd three note, if not for what purpose was it given?
