On or before the first day of March eighteen
hundred and forty three I promise to Shewill
and Bonner [?] or bearer ninety 29/100 dollars
for value received January 17th 1842

Subpoena The State of Alabama
To any Sheriff of said State - Greeting.
You are hereby commanded to summon Dan-
iel Turnipseed if to be found in your County
that he laying aside all excuse, personally
appear before the next Chancery Cort, to be held
at the Town of Carrollton, in the Twenty Third
Chancery District, in the Middle Chancery Di-
vision of the State aforesaid, on the second Monday
after the fourth Monday in June next; and that
he within thirty days from the service of this
writ, according to law and the rules of said
Court, answer the bill of complaint of Hugh
Cunningham exhibited against him the
said Daniel Turnipseed and to do further
and to receive what our said Court shall
have considered in that behalf; and that this
he in no wise omit. Herein fail not and
serve and return this unit forthwith.
