September 30, 1848 - October 5, 1848

1848 Sept 30 Cutting Tobacco in big & little
new ground & making Tobacco sticks
Finished curing 2 Houses Tobacco & about
prize Barn at this timefair & warm
Sent Henry to Mr McCullocks
& Exchanged Ten 10 Bus. wheat, as
his is whiter than mine, mine is a
little mixed, — with red wheat some how
cut 625 sticks Tobacco in Lot -
Second cutting in big & little new ground
[lost in margin] sticks in second yrs ground is
sticks, making in all

Oct. 1st Raining this morning & untill
nearly 12 oclock, warm weather —

Oct 2 Cut & Hung up to this day 3000
& over. finished cutting in big new ground
worming second yrs ground & succoring
Halling wood & shoemaking —

3 Halling up old Top stack & stacking
straw etc etc Fed shoemaking
Sent 125 lbs old Iron to Miles Tuckers
& sent Henry to Jno Tucker for 1000 shingles
for X saw, worming & succoring Tobacco
began to Pull Mountain field corn,

4th Halling Tobacco out of new ground to
mountain field Barn & Halling corn home
from mountain field

5 Housing Lot Tobacco shucking
& Housing corn put in corn house
about 13 Bbls
