10th: having trouble with the name. Also see 14th.
The Turner clock has been mentioned before: Thos T Adams started the Turner clock. And Mr. Martin was referred to as a clock doctor. I believe that "clock doctors" used to travel from home to home repairing clocks. My only reference, though, is a novel by Kate Morton, "The Clockmaker's Daughter," set in England.

Is James P Lewis the same as Parham Lewis? Who are the boys or men JWG pays to finish the chimney? None of these names have referred to slaves, and he wouldn't be paying slaves. Is Jacob JWG's son? William Grasty's son wasn't born until 1852 and he had no other children. Mr. Hendrick was a teacher. So they can't be children of Grasty & Hendrick.
Is Miss E McCullock the same as M.A.E. McCullock?

Ben W. Brumfield

Miss E McCullock's funeral might refer to Elizabeth McCullock, who is listed aged 75 in the 1850 census. That could be the same person whose "place" is mentioned on the 13th; perhaps she was dying at the time?
