Halling & Cutting wood for Plant Bed
& in new ground moderate weather
Thursday 18th Janry 1867. the wind started to
blow hard last night about 11 oclock
& this morning blowing very hard all day
from N & NW. & tremendous Cold Richard
got back with his meat night before last
We are Cutting in new ground all day
We put out the thermometer at night
in shade & it got from 28 Degrees in
the house to 12 at the tree before the door
& in the morning 10 degrees wind little abated
about night clear & tremdous Cold weather
189th I went to Keens & old place very cold
Cutting till Dinner & then halled out 1
Load straw & 3 Loads leaves for stables
Thermometer 11, or 12 at night morning
wind stoped blowing before night
Wyatt gone with Mr Whitehead to Franklin
been here 9½ days Still Cold morning
Cutting in new ground to day
Richard Came about 17th Decr & nothing
done since on way of travelling
Cutting in new ground & trying to
finish to day weather moderated a little
19th Richard started to Franklin with Wyatt
Finished Cutting nearly in new ground
Boler went home this evening Jerry has not
come yet weather moderated a little
20th Sunday cloudy & it began to snow hard
about 9 Oclock in the morning dreadfull day
21st Snowed till about night hard snow about
5 Inches Deep jerry came last & Richard came
back Major went off 19th & has not returned yet
